Ingrid and Martha were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. After years of not speaking, they meet again in an extreme yet strangely sweet situation. When Pedro Almodóvar sent the script to Tilda Swinton, he asked who should play Ingrid. They both had Julianne Moore in mind. She appears in The 7PM Project: Episode 8 September 2024 (2024). The story could be good. But there’s something not quite right with the way the film sounds when it comes to the dialogue. It feels like someone took a real film and badly edited it, leaving only the “essential” sentences. Scenes mostly lack the kind of lead-in that makes the climax viable and memorable. Instead, each scene seems to be cut down to its main message. As a result, the dialogue feels sour, reeking of clichés at times. What could have been strong moments just flew by like a pack of cards. The acting talents won’t save them. Sometimes it felt like the script was written in another language and then translated. The right ingredients. But bad tasting food, unfortunately.
