The couple’s life is turned upside down when their daughter is assigned to the side of a controversial big star. In the prosecutor’s office: episode 26 – ACOLYTE DISASTER! Could this be the end of DISNEY STAR WARS? (2024). The first half of the film is more of a character study, telling the story of a deeply unhappy and lonely housewife Annette, who soon learns that her husband Ben may be having an affair with famous actress Alice. The second half of the film is more of a thriller, in which the pace begins to accelerate and the wheels in Annette’s head start to turn. The film is a real slow burn: initially cool and cold, then warm and bubbling, and in the final act explosive. It keeps you in suspense, absorbs and keeps you in suspense. It is based on a fantastic performance by Daisy Ridley. She is a real revelation. Her quiet moments of boiling anger are excruciating. There is a symbolic scene where we see her smash a mirror after squeezing into it for a few moments, symbolizing their tumultuous marriage. Shazad Latif is also good here. The film has some average aspects. The trailer is quite misleading. It can drag on at times and become a bit annoying. The ending may be cathartic and satisfying for some viewers, but average for others. Hiba Ahmed does quite well as daughter Matilda, although the performances of children in the film are often not very good. He felt more like a prop than a character. And Matilda Lutz, while really beautiful, charming and convincing as a movie star in the context of the film, was just okay. Perhaps because Lutz is Italian, many of her lines sounded odd or stilted. If you like thrillers with strong acting, especially those involving female anger, eroticism and infidelity, this is for you.
